Definitely worth a visit when you are in the park! We visited during winter and we're sad because the park seemed a bit dry, but the greenhouse was a pleasant surprise. Being inside the greenhouse, you are truly exported into a tropical rainforest where you feel like you are not in Japan anymore. The greenhouse is full of plants that are so unique and truly impressed me! Very calming too!
Great views and very interesting! A queue is formed inside so it is kind of slow sometimes.
When I went there taking photo inside the greenhouse is prohibited. So there is no picture inside.
Most of the plants in the Greenhouse are from tropical area. If you are from South East Asian countries, the plants there were very normal.
Nice garden in the city! A pleasant place to go if you're tired of shopping in Shinjuku. There are lots of great places to eat in between the shopping area and the garden. Try to avoid eating lunch exactly at noon - you'll know what I'm talking about if you try.
Beautiful place! I’m surprised at how large some of the plants are! It is nicely separated too so there isn’t a plethora of different species in your face, it is separated eg Costa Rica and Okinawa. I was also impressed at the layout of the place, apart from the end where it forks to the exit or a dead end but I suppose the entrances/exits have changed since it was built. Really impressed with the artificial rocks and waterfall too. Added to the place. My next wish would be some parrots or some tropical birds, but I understand that that would be cruel to the animals.
Last month, I visited the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.
I must admit I was surprised at needing to buy a ticket for 500 yean (about $3) just to get into the park - as in America, I am used to parks being free; however, the price of admission was worth the respite from the Tokyo crowds.
We first walked around the grounds, viewing the formal gardens and ponds with bridges and teahouses.
The highlight for me was The Greenhouse at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, which offers many succulents and other plants inside a sprawling conservatory.
The Greenhouse only takes 10-15 minutes to tour, and then you are on your way again through the gardens.
The Greenhouse at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is definitely worth visiting if you are at the garden.
Greenhouse of Shinjuku gyoen is a must visit place in the national garden. Please don’t miss it.
The flowers are sooo beautiful and it’s mesmerizing.
It’s a small glasshouse but has a good collection of flowers of various varieties.
We advise arriving at least 3 hours before closing to fully enjoy the park. It gave us brand new energy after travelling through Japan for the last 3 weeks.
